Wing Training 18/02/16

Usual procedure - pick up to three activities for wing training, and don't worry if you change your mind because you can change your vote at any time. Poll closes next Thursday, wing training will be carried out at or around Zaonce at 6pm GMT unless there are enough calls to change the date, time and/or location.

If there's anything you want to do that's not listed here, post in the thread and I'll add it to the poll. Please also post in the thread to say if you'll be available for wing training or not.

Thursday is our wing training day to accomodate Power Players who may need to hold on to a lot of merits and don't wish to run the risk of losing them - since the Power Play cycle resets on a Thursday morning, people aren't going to be carrying many or any merits by the evening.

This may be Commander Dayrth’s last week of wing training for a very long time. I now have enough money to finish equipping my Asp Explorer and it is almost time to set out on the exploration trip I have been promising myself for nearly a year.

His place will be taken by an as yet unnamed commander though. My second account activated today :) The new commander will be very poor for a while though so will probably only have a Sidewinder. He will also not have access to landing on planets.

I intend to build up this one through trading, which is something I have so far neglected. If I can manage to stick at it long enough to get a type 6 we could try escort duty for a future wing training session.

If this is going to be the last day then we should bring in toys and games. I chose planet landing so we can do same racing and maybe barrel gobbling. But I'd also like to try out that daisy chaining of NavLoks to see if it really does bring down the whole of the Elite Universe <grin>

Once we've waved you off as you set sail on a sea of stars, we can always shift the wing training to CQCC. All that fancy stuff that the Hutton Truckers does is to ensure that they are facing fellow truckers in combat. The team formation stuff works fine.

Oops, just realised I completely missed wing training. Sorry to whoever showed up. I'll probably catch it next week.

We even sent Dayrth over here to chase you up <grin>

We gave the daisy chaining of Nav-Locks a go. It was very successful. It's a technique that will prove very useful if the ARC ever take part in a Hutton Truck Run.

I think "Elite Dangerous, Mayhem!" will still be going next week. Could you add "Arena" onto your poll of things to try for next week?

Training was interesting. The daisy chain nav lock worked well. When any one in the wing is interdicted everyone turns up in the right place :) The nave lock does break and you have to reset it before continuing.

We had some fun in a HI conflict zone in Leesti, but Luftal had to leave early, so Frank and I headed down to a planet for a bit of buggy racing. I won the first race and Frank won the second. I have no idea who won the third. We both rolled the buggies (more than once for me), and I'm not sure either of us ended up going in the right direction :D

That was commander Dayrth's last wing training for a long time. When we were done I hopped in to my Asp Explorer (AS Robert Fitzroy) and went to the edge of occupied space. Made sure the ship was fully repaired and even had the paintwork resprayed. I am away now until Sunday afternoon, but when I get back Commander Dayrth will be off out in to the black. (We'll see what state the ship comes back in, if it comes back at all ;))

Next week Dayrth's cousin Commander Dairth (see the family resemblance?) will be joining you for wing training. That is if he can afford a ship that will get him to Zaonce by then :)
