Not a problem Luftal, we can work around that. If you want to vote in the poll for what you'd like to do in wing training we'll incorporate it into the session.

I think we should probably look at doing Horizons training separately in this case, either at a different time or perhaps better, on a different day.

Since we have a lot of votes for the Team Photo option, here are my suggestions - and they are just that, suggestions.

  1. Select your preferred ship (ideally a combat oriented one)
  2. If possible put it in Vibrant Blue livery
  3. If you don't have or can't get Vibrant Blue for that ship, any predominantly blue livery is fine. After blue, orange (our second colour), after orange, silver.
  4. Head to Ridley Scott in Zaonce (it is our HQ, might be an idea to get it in the background)
  5. One of us scouts about for a good point where the station and/or the planet are visible and the light is good (lighting was a big problem last time we tried this and whether the station is lit depends on time of day due to rotation about Industry)
  6. We decide on a formation - this is of course dependent on how many people turn up
  7. We nominate a camera man (this is dictated by the ships and the formation - it's the guy at the front, basically)
  8. All ships stay in the same plane, moving at the same speed (to be decided), and follow the instructions of the camera man
  9. Remember you'll likely need to maintain the formation and speed for some time to allow the camera man to go into debug camera, move to the right point and take a lot of screenies

If it comes out well, the team photo will be used in the new header for the site. I may even look at rotating headers for the site if we want to do a single shot of each ship as well.

Formations depend entirely on who pitches up and in what. If there are four of us, a diamond formation could be good - Dayrth in FDL in front, Frank in Python in rear, Luftal and I in Vultures on either side. If more people turn up we can do an arrowhead or V-formation with the biggest ships in the middle.

For those of us with Horizons we can also do a landed photo with the ships next to each other.

If you can, let me know what ship and what colour you're hoping to pitch up in. I know this is a lot of work for potentially a single image, but it would make us look very organised and the site look so much cooler!

Awight lads?

Wing training sounds cool. What time is it (give it to me in in-game or GMT - I'm UK based)? Would love to join up if I can.

I also don't have horizons...

Hey Kempinski. Normally wing training starts 6pm GMT, or round about, typically at Zaonce or Leesti unless we've agreed somewhere else on the forum. Just vote on what you'd like us to focus on and we'll go with the top three suggestions that all of us are able to take part in.

Sorry Frank, looks like messing around in the buggies advanced tactical ground ops training will have to wait.

I've been playing with Voice Attack/Teamspeak a bit more, but I have moved the post over to the Tips and Tricks thread in the Hanger.

Formation flying for a photograph? This is going to be fun <grin>. I don't know why but the phrase "herding cats" springs to mind.

I'll be there at 6:00 and I'll be wearing my little Vibrant Blue Python number.
