Leesti does sound like a logical place to base our operations.
I didn't realise we provided escort services. Are we going to help out with the Hutton Orbital Community Goal, that is if it does end up being this big flotilla of cargo ships and fighters taking scrap to that station. I think that all the planning so far is based on an assumption.

Bamileng for me.
Wing training can be done anywhere.
There are systems to be flipped around Bamileng.

Escort duty is one of the services we considered offering, but interdiction training is a high priority. Fortunately they're remarkably similar! I think escort service is increasingly unlikely given that traders generally play in Solo, but winging up and getting used to following wingmen into interdictions (regardless of whether they are interdicting or interdicted) and developing tactics would be useful though.
Re: Wing Training
We may offer escorts to those who fortify systems. Seems useful.
Re: Wing Training
It's a shame that wing training was cancelled last week due to lack of interest. Dayrth was there but couldn't attend as he was having difficulties with his connection. Being the only pupil in the class I decided to teach myself a lesson.
The lesson I wanted to teach myself was "How to be a useful escort" This was mainly going to consist of learning how to follow people down their low energy wakes after an interdiction. My plan was to outrun an interdiction then turn around to follow the NPC down his wake. I couldn't do it. There were so many wakes in the contacts page I couldn't see which one was the failed interdiction's.
Last night I was out trying to make a few bucks bounty hunting. I was in a system with just me and one baddie, and he interdicted me. I thought to myself that I'll succeed this time. I outran his interdiction. I looked in the contacts... nothing. There was no low energy wake. This was something I used to managed many months ago. I wonder if Frontier have changed the mechanics slightly after the wings update.
So how do we provide a good and effective escort service? Does our client need to wing up and use their nav beacon. I was having difficulties helping other wingmen after they'd been interdicted. Could someone go through the steps I should do in this case?
And is it possible to help someone who's been interdicted even if they haven't set their beacon?

Re: Wing Training
If you are nav-locked onto a wingman and flying in close enough proximity to them when they are interdicted, you should be dragged into the encounter with them. If you are not navlocked but do have them targeted, once they drop to normal space the targeting lock should switch from their ship to their wake, at which point it's a simple task of spending ten minutes lining up and making ridiculously slow passes through the wake to try and actually lock onto it and drop down to normal space... by which time your wingman has typically completed his combat or woken up back at the station.
The wing beacon, from what I remember, simply makes this process easier and more visible, but it's part of what I'd like to try out and practice. Sorry I couldn't make the last wing training session (and the one before that, and the one before that, and...). I've stepped away from Elite for a while to focus on other more important things, but since I'm not Powerplaying at the moment if there's an evening you'd like to wing up let me know and I'll do my level best to be there so we can practice escort/interdiction tactics.

Re: Wing Training
I really do want to improve my winging skills. If anyone sees me flying about in Private Group and you've got the time and patience to teach an old man, then yell out. I'm happy to meet in open or Private Group; sanctuary1952, Mobius, or Angel Rose.
A word of warning. It may require a running through the basics of wing flying again.

Re: Wing Training
Willing to do wing, escort and interdiction training whenever you choose Frank, I'm not in the game this week so no concerns about Powerplay or being out of the area. Tuesday I may not be able to get on until a little later, not sure, Thursday I'll be out so no chance, but any other day is fine.

Re: Wing Training
I am working away for most of this week again
I should be back to normal next week though and would like to start regular training again. Don't mind which day as long as it's not Friday or Saturday.
