Wing Training 10 March

Postby Dayrth » Fri Mar 04, 2016 7:40 am

I will probably only be in a Hauler, but I will be there for training on the 10th. Had to start afresh with my new commander, but I do now have a jump drive capable of getting to Zaonce and a ship that at least has some chance of surviving an interdiction. :)

As a poor, weak and lowly trader I thought escort duty might be a thing to practice (for you guys). Anyone up for it?

Any one attending training this Thursday? If so what would you like to do?

It might be a good idea to just stay in Zaonce and try to hammer down CODE's influence a bit. Try to get the kids offa our lawn.

I should be in Zaonce by tomorrow. I wont be able to take part in any combat :( But I will do what I can to boost ARC.

I may be wrong, but I don't think taking a mission then failing it does any damage to the faction. It just lowers your rating with that faction. Killing a factions AIs has some effect, but unless you can find wanted ones then you will get a bounty. Best thing is finding missions that specifically target them, but I doubt there will be many like that.

On further investigation.... You can drop a factions influence by taking their missions, and then failing (not abandoning) them. I may try doing that tomorrow.

I know you were following the Wolfberg thread. They say the best thing to do is take on your opponent's missions and flip them when you're given the opportunity. I didn't have the patience for that. What I did was I grabbed myself a whole heap of every CODE mission I could and then I let them all fail. They don't like me much any more and so they aren't offering me any more missions <grin>.

How about jumping into Sidewinders and attacking CODE NPCs tomorrow?

Sounds good. I should have enough money to buy a Sidy, but wont be able to replace it too often. :)

I made it to Zaonce in time for training and had enough cash to buy a stack Sidy. It was nice to wing up again after being away for three weeks. We decided to see if we could do a bit of damage to Code in Zaonce. There were no missions either for or against code available so we went off to the local RES. The handy thing about Code AIs is that they are all wanted :).

We spent probably 45 minutes hunting in Sidewinders and I made more money than I had in the past 3 weeks of trading  We went and cashed in our earnings and then back out for a bit more fun. This time though I bit off more than I could chew and was destroyed. Annoyingly even though I am certain I clicked on rebuy I found myself back in the starter system LHS 3447 :x That effectively put an end to the evening.

On a positive note though, with the extra profit I made in that brief time I was able to buy myself a Cobra, so I will have no trouble trading my way back to Zaonce for next week :)

There are still a few CODE around so I guess we should continue pushing them down. Instead of playing around in Sidewinders I think we should do as much damage as possible. We'll take our fighters to the Hi RES at Zaonce 4.

We might even force them out of our system. <grin>

I'm up for that, except I don't have a fighter at the moment. I can pick up something cheap though, maybe an Eagle.
