Seriously? Damn, now I have to re-pledge to Mahon... once the CG is over.

Elite Dangerous (NOT Horizons) is currently on sale on Steam and in the FD store for £10.

I am currently engaged in kitting out an Asp for exploring. Once it's ready I will be off out in to the black for a while. Think I will treat myself to a second copy so I can still join in training. Can't go wrong for a tenner :)

New dev update: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=231826 Some interesting stuff about missions, but it was the line at the end that caught my attention.

'we have huge beam and pulse laser and multi-cannons being added. There will also be a new large multi-cannon.'

New Horizons patch today:

https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=232819&highlight=Horizons+patch+2.0.06

Mostly CQC stuff, but one thing interested me:

- Fix for data link scanner not scanning when the option 'Firing deploys hardpoints' is disabled

This is probably why I could never get the scanner to work when I tried those missions. I will have to give it another go before I disappear in to the black.

CGC has been renamed Arena and is now available as a stand alone game costing £4.99.

It is still available to us Elite and Horizons players, just with the new name.

New dev update today:

https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=233357

Looks like 2.1 may be closer than I thought :)

This update is all around missions, but as part of that USSs are getting some attention. Including:

Another exciting change is how missions and USSs interact with each other. USSs for missions will now generally be located at specific bodies within a system which have can be located using a discovery scanner, although the usual ranges apply. If the system has a nav beacon then these can now be scanned and the scan will reveal these mission locations as well as providing any exploration data for that system.

One other significant change for USSs is that they can be scanned to reveal more information about them without having to drop out of supercruise.

Seems I picked a good time to take a long break from ED. I'll be back for the Engineers beta, but probably not before then.

New(ish) dev update. Actually yesterdays, but I missed it.

https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=236417

Interesting stuff about missions. I like the sound of getting a treasure map as a reward :)
Looks like missions will have a greater affect on minor factions.
We are getting a clock in the cockpit :)
Finally, looks like 2.1 beta will be in May (with a bit of luck).
